The Firm's practice is organized in five key areas: litigation, business, real estate transactions, franchise law and homeowners’ association law:
LITIGATION
The Fortune Law Group handles complex business litigation for a wide range of clients, including individuals, sole proprietorships, franchisees and mid-sized firms. We work to keep our clients out of court, but we're prepared to fight when your individual needs or business success depends on aggressive and result-oriented representation.
BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS
Ms. Fortune has extensive experience in the most important issues facing your business. We can help your company maximize its competitive advantages and avoid legal problems through careful planning and the skillful drafting of contracts, leases, and other business documents.
REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS
The Firm’s Real Estate practice encompasses all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including the preparation of sale agreements, lease agreements, land use analysis, construction documentation and the preparation and review of loan documentation. The Real Estate practice also includes all aspects of real property disputes and litigation, involving landlord/tenant issues, sales, escrows, commercial collection matters, environmental compliance issues and eminent domain matters in all Superior and District Courts in Southern California.
FRANCHISE LAW
The Fortune Law Group represents franchisees in a wide variety of commercial transactions as well as providing counsel in disputes with the franchisor. We assist franchisees of all sizes with their review of franchise disclosure documents, negotiation of new franchise agreements, franchise renewals, compliance, assignment of franchise agreements and approval of new franchisees. Ms. Fortune believes that franchisors and franchisees should be guided by the principals of growing their respective businesses together and should work toward reasonable legal solutions designed to obtain the most profitable outcome for the franchisor and the franchisee.
HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION LAW
The Fortune Law Group has extensive experience in “common interest development” law (codified in California as the Davis-Stirling Act), representing both associations and individual homeowners regarding their rights and duties under the Davis-Stirling Act. As well, the firm has followed closely the complete revision of Davis-Stirling by the California Law Revision Commission now pending in the legislature as AB 1921 (Soldana). Today, we currently represent a number of homeowner associations providing directors and individual owners with comprehensive and approachable legal advice and counsel.
